The
Seven Deadly Sins are wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge
without character, business without morality, science without humanity, worship
without sacrifice and politics without principle.

If
I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do
it even if I may not have it at the beginning.

The
sacrifice which causes sorrow to the doer of the sacrifice is no sacrifice. Real
sacrifice lightens the mind of the doer and gives him a sense of peace and joy.
The Buddha gave up the pleasures of life because they had become painful to him.

When
I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always
won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible
but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS.

Whatever
you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.
A
coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.
An
eye for an eye would make the whole world blind.
Be
the change you want to see in the world.

It
is the duty of every cultured man or woman to read sympathetically the scriptures
of the world. If we are to respect others' religions as we would have them respect
our own, a friendly study of the world's religions is a sacred duty.

Men
often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something,
it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the
ability to do it even if I didn't have it in the beginning.

Freedom
is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
The
best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
Happiness
is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
They
cannot take away our self-respect if we do not give it to them.
There
is more to life than increasing its speed.

Consciously
or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate
the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily
grow stronger and we will make not only our own happiness, but that of the world
at large.

Prayer
is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness.
It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Each
one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected
by outside circumstances.
There
are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the
form of bread.
Satisfaction
lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory.
No
culture can live, if it attempts to be exclusive.
Live
as if your were to die tomorrow.
